Freedom
Freedom Young was born in Virginia, and raised in Delaware, his musical journey started in a car seat, where his mother first noticed his joy and talent for singing. She put him in gospel choir at age 4 which would lay the foundation for his future music endeavors.
In high school Freedom started doing show choir and musical theatre but it wasn’t until college that he was introduced to a cappella. While attending the University of Delaware he sang with the co-ed group Vocal Point. In his final year at Delaware, he auditioned and was accepted into the Cape Cod-based vocal group, Hyannis Sound. There he met Tyler Trepp and sang with the group for three summers.
After his time with Hyannis Sound, Young would go on to sing with multiple professional groups all over the US and in over 40 countries, including a European tour opening for the Backstreet Boys. He would also have a recurring spot on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show.
He feels extremely blessed for all the opportunities and experiences he has had on his musical journey!
